The Museo Histórico Carabineros de Chile (MHC) together with the Departamento de Prevención de Reisgos, Forestal y Medio Ambiente (O.S.5) of Carabineros de Chile, an organization that plays a role of vigilance in the International Committee CITES, and Casa Museo Eduardo Frei Montalva invites you to an educational fair organized in the framework of the World Environment Day, on Friday, June 3th from 10:00 to 16:00 hours in order to encourage the protection of the species and the environment. This activity will be supported by Museo Nacional de Historia Natural and the institutions that are part of the CITES committee.
The main objective of this activity is to encourage and diffuse the knowledge of the ecological diversity of our country, in order to motivate the participants about the care of their environment. Therefore, visitors will interact with professionals of each stand where they will also find material about flora and fauna of Chile, focused on the actions aimed at the preservation and conservation of the habitat that gives home to the species.
The World Environment Day is one of the main ways that United Nations uses to promote the attention and political action on this matter. It was established on December 15th of 1972 at the Conference on the Human Environment held in Stockholm, Sweden and is celebrated on June 5th each year since 1973, for the purpose of encouraging the community to think about the importance that our actions have, which added, may achieve a positive impact, not only in terms of protections and care of our planet, but also of our country.
