Christmas storytelling: The little spider of Bethlehem

21 de November de 2017

Eduardo Frei Montalva House Museum invites you to celebrate Christmas with a storyteller accompanied by a craft workshop, an activity created for the little ones.

A small spider is tired of knitting scarves for cows and booties for horses. One night a couple arrives at the stable where she lives, a child is born and with it, the opportunity to do something special arises. What will change the life of this nice little spider? This is the heart of the story that will be narrated at the Eduardo Frei Montalva House Museum on Thursday, December 14, at a Christmas celebration focused especially on preschoolers.

The story will be narrated by Karin Weinreich Bénard, sociologist at the Pontificia Universidad Católica of Chile, daughter and granddaughter of women storytellers. Using some musical instruments and implements of felt and wool, the children will be prepared for a tender story that delves into the spirit of Christmas.

In addition, at the end of the story, participants will have the possibility to create their own spider or other character, with recycled materials and wool, in a short workshop of crafts.

The invitation is open for kindergartens and the general public accompanied by an adult (teacher or legal representative). For registration you have to send an e-mail to: contacto@casamuseoeduardofrei.cl or to the telephone (56-2) 2881 8674. The seats are limited.

It is worth noting that the Christmas storytelling “The little spider of Bethlehem” (or “La pequeña arañita de Belen”) is part of the extension activities of the Eduardo Frei Montalva House Museum, a heritage and cultural space located in Hindenburg Street #683, Providencia, which was the family home of the former Chilean president.
