Agreement between the Museum and UNIACC School of Translation and Interpreting
From the month of June of the present year, Translation and Interpreting students at UNIACC University will be able to carry out their internships in Casa Museo Eduardo Frei Montalva.
The initiative will enrich the academic training provided by this first museum dedicated to a former Chilean President, and facilitate the translation of texts and information about the Museum.
Students will collaborate with the communication department, thus contributing to translating speeches by Eduardo Frei Montalva. Additionally, they will translate the contents of the new English version of the Museum’s web page, soon to be displayed as a complete multimedia work including: news, collection description, background information, biographies, and photographs.
In the future, intern students of UNIACC will be able to support the interpreting service currently provided by specialized personnel, thus facilitating tours for foreign visitors who wish to admire the Museum’s patrimonial value.
Omar Silva Montenegro, currently a fourth year student at UNIACC School of Translation and Interpreting, is the first one to carry out an internship, working two hours a week within the Museum and two additional hours at UNIACC University facilities.
