During the month of August, the house museum Eduardo Frei Montalva welcomes you to the former President’s home, free of charge, for children up to 12 years old. A different way of knowing part of the history of the twentieth century in Chile.
The House Museum proposes to celebrate the Child’s Month giving a free tour that goes through the history of the 20th century in Chile, inside the corners of the home of one of its protagonists. The invitation is open during the month of August and is open for boys and girls up to 12 years.
The building, declared a National Monument, houses places full of history, such as the room of the children of the former President, preserved as in the 60’s, and in which you can find popular magazines such as El Peneca and Estadio, a desk for the homework with a earth globe and a small library, school bags and flags of the favorite football team of the brothers Frei Ruiz-Tagle.
Another attraction that always arouses the interest of the boys and girls are the fragments of lunar stones presented to the former President by the crew of the Apollo XII mission, who visited our country in 1970. It should be noted that the House Museum EFM and the National History Museum Natural (MNHN) are the only two entities in Chile that house pieces of lunar stones as part of their collection.
In addition to these attractions, families can learn more about the history of Chile and the world through the twentieth-century timeline, with historical, cultural, political and social milestones such as the signing of the Treaty of Versailles and the creation of the Society of The Nations (1919), the award of the Nobel Prize in Physics to Albert Einstein (1921), the First World Soccer Championship in Uruguay (1930), among other events.
“If I were president”
In addition to the tours of the home of the former President, on Sunday, August 6, starting at 12:00 hours will start the workshop “If I were President”, aimed at children up to 12 years of age, where they are invited to reflect on how they would like our country to be in the future, and to create posters to share their ideas and proposals with the rest of their classmates.
In addition, special guided tours will be held on that day, with contests and a special “search for a lost object”.
An unforgettable event for families to celebrate in the company of their children this very important day: “the Children’s Day and Month”, with the perfect mixture of culture and entertainment.

Free entrance to children up to 12 years old.
When? During the month of August, from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00 hrs.
Where? At the House Museum of EFM located at Hidenburg Street #683, Providencia.
On Sunday, August 6, special tours will be held for children, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., in addition to the workshop “If I were president” at 12:00 p.m.
